Creative Contributions

Would you like to bring your own unique slice of spice to Search Festival? Are you a performance artist, installation extraordinaire, whimsical entertainer, painter, sculptor or a generally generous soul? Would you like to run a workshop, or do you want to extend your camping spot with an engaging thematic activity? We have space for you! We love having more people be part of the festival's offering, and you can be part of the Search experience through contributing your unique performance, artwork, workshop or themed camp. If approved, you'll get free tickets for your (small) team!

Deadline for applications is 31 October 2023. Don't delay!

How can you contribute?

Workshops
Setup: 29 December
Requirement: 2 hours worth of workshops (can be split into smaller repeat segments)
 
Contribute a workshop or presentation that illuminates minds and adds a spark to the festival! Anything from yoga to pottery, breathwork or mycelium networks, dancing or prancing, whatever knowledge you have to share with your fellow Searchers is welcome. Just make sure it's long enough! You'll be expected to fill up 2 hours worth of material — they can be split into smaller segments, but needs to adhere to this condition. We’ll provide the space, a microphone, and speakers. Bring your own materials!
 
Successful applicants receive free entry to the festival for up to 2 people per workshop and must be present on December 29 for setup. Apply below!
 
Performance Art
Setup: 29 December
 
Contribute as a performance artist, and make the festival your stage. We're open to a wide variety of disciplines - contemporary dance, puppetry, live painting, site specific performances, durational work — whatever floats you and yours! We’re looking to spotlight artists who quite literally embody the spirit of the Search through their creative practice, and would love to hear your bright ideas. Bear in mind, these are not DJ sets or live acts within our main music programme – we're all sorted for those.

Art Installations
Setup: 29 December
 
Make the Search your canvas. Imagine immersive, interactive, durable installations that transform the space and add to the vibe. There’s plenty of room that we’re able to use as a beautiful backdrop for all sorts of art installations. Submit your project here for us to review!

Theme Camps
Arrival: 29 December
 
Mi casa, su casa! Make your space nice for others. Tranform your camp into a place of wonder and interactivity. Will you provide tarot readings of utility bills? Perhaps a mental gymnastics court where everyone has to sit and think about doing backflips together, like, really hard? Free pancakes until the batter runs out? You know, that kind of thing! As long as you put your heart and soul into it and include the participants of the festival somehow, you've got our vote!
 
Successful applicants receive free entry to the festival for up to 2 people per theme camp and must be present on December 29 for setup. A section of your camp needs to be open to the public most of the time of the festival, or clearly communicated via signage what you are doing and at what times it will be available. Apply below!
 
Unique Contributions
Arrival: 29 December
 
What's that you say? You have a crazy unique talent or thing that is neither workshop, theme camp, performance or art installation? Well, let's hear it! You can still apply using the creative contribution application form, same as the rest, but just now whatever your idea is, it needs to be really really excellent for us to consider it. No pressure!
